GoPro™ Universal Stair Bracket System
Fact Sheet
- The GoPro system saves time, money, and headaches. It makes it possible
for carpenters, builders and D-I-Yers of all skill levels to take on the
building of stairs on-site.
- The GoPro universal stair bracket system was designed by Canadian master
carpenter Eric Gobeil as a better way to build stairs. It is patented in the
U.S., Canada and Europe.
- The secret to the system is the patented pre-stamped measurements on each
bracket, which allow the builder to screw the brackets correctly into the wood
stringer the first time and without constant measuring or marking.
- Our brackets meet all state building codes and accommodate all rises and
runs. The brackets are made from 16-gauge G-185 hot-dipped galvanized steel
and can be used inside or outside.
- Our brackets can be used with all types of wood, including treated and
artificial wood.
- The GoPro system saves wood—you can use a 2 X 8 or even a 2 X 6
instead of a 2 X 12.
- There is minimal cutting of wood, or multiple measuring and marking as you
screw in the pre-marked brackets. It is virtually mistake-proof.
- There is considerably less chance of squeaking than with conventional
stairs. There are three reasons.
- There is less wood-to-wood contact, which is the main cause of squeaks.
- Using screws is superior to using nails in terms of avoiding pull-out
and loosening.
- Because you are using a wood stringer with no notches, wood shrinkage in
the stringer is constant and less likely to cause noise.
- Easy-to-follow instructions available at point-of-sale and on the website
will make installation simple, even for first time users.
- The bracket will be available in 1's and packages of 50's.
- The universal stair bracket is more stable than conventional stringers.
And, weight tests conducted by a major North
American university demonstrated that our system far exceeded the 300 pound
minimum required in the U.S.
- GoPro Construction Solutions is manufacturing the product in Cleveland,
