Cleveland-based GoPro™ Construction Solutions LLC is a new company with an experienced team and an ambitious mission: to bring disruptive new products to the construction components business.

That's why the company theme line says "Cut Work. Not Corners."

GoPro is developing and marketing innovative products that help those in the construction industry become more efficient while actually improving quality.

GoPro's first product is the innovative Universal Stair Bracket System, which President Steve Peplin likens to the joist hanger when it was first introduced 40 years ago. "At the time, people resisted it, simply because it wasn't traditional. Over time, builders realized it was a significant step forward. Now it's the standard. We think the analogy is very appropriate. The universal stair bracket will revolutionize the building of stairs." GoPro is manufacturing the universal stair bracket in Cleveland, Ohio, using G-185 triple zinc, hot-dipped galvanized steel.
 

The Team: Savvy and Creativity

The two partners in GoPro are Peplin and Eric Gobeil. Gobeil is a master carpenter and inventor. In 2003 he invented and patented the Universal Stair Bracket, which has been selling successfully in Canada. In Canada, his company is called Gobeco Construction Solutions.

The GoPro stair bracket system is the only one with brackets that have imprinted scale markings indicating the staircase rise and run. Thus, it is easy to properly attach the brackets to accommodate any pitches, rises and runs.

Peplin, CEO of Talan Products, Inc. in Cleveland, has joined forces with Gobeil to manufacture and market the product to U.S. stair manufacturers, lumber yards, home centers, and construction-oriented hardware stores.

Peplin has been in the construction industry for 30 years, the last 20 as an owner of Talan. A former manufacturer's representative, Peplin is often quoted in industry publications.

GoPro is an affiliate of Talan Products, an award-winning Cleveland, Ohio-based full-service metal stamping company. Talan is a manufacturer of tooling and engineered parts with a proven track record since 1986 of growth and customer satisfaction and longevity. A contract manufacturer with a strong record of success, Talan provides private label building components to some of the largest companies in the world.

GoPro is in the process of developing other disruptive products. The company will have a 20' X 20' exhibit booth at the International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida on February 13-16, 2008. Both Peplin and Gobeil will be at the show to meet with prospective customers, representatives, and distributors.
